Our visit with Maddie Gene!

It is so hot here! We've been indoors a lot lately, trying to beat the heat and stay cool. It's miserable, and there doesn't seem to be any break in the near future. We'll manage somehow, but boy would we enjoy some cooler weather!
On Sunday, we got to meet our new cousin, Maddie Gene. She and her Mom, Mary Beth, were in town from New Bern, NC, and as you can see, Carrie was a little unsure about her. One minute, she would rub her head gently. Then she would attempt to pat her head a little harder. Then she would give her a kiss. But Carrie didn't like me holding her, as you can see!
We are gearing up for our beach trip at the end of the month, and in between is Father's Day and a horse show! So stayed tuned for more news!
